However, we first met at Post Oak Club, both there one thing in common—a desire to heal. We started going to meetings together and dinner after. He gave clues that he was interested by texting after the dinner that he "had a good time". It wasn't soon after that we started dating. What began as a simple conversation about our recovery stories soon turned into a deeper connection that we both couldn’t ignore.

As we spent more time together, the relationship continued to evolve. With every conversation, we began to see how our experiences in recovery had shaped who we were as individuals—and how much we complemented each other. What I saw in David was not just someone I was falling in love with, but someone who understood me in a way no one else had before.
